He obtained additional specialisations and practical preparation through his participation in the Fulbright Programme at the Sofia Regional Court over 2013-2014, the Settlement and Mediation Center at the Sofia Regional Court and the Sofia City Court from 2014 to 2015, as well as in the Administration of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria in 2013 and the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, Housing Policy – Renovation of Residential Buildings Directorate in 2013. He passed the assistant private bailiff exam in 2017 with the highest mark.

Professional experience
Since 2019, he has provided legal services to a big corporate holding structure with majority shareholding in 18 subsidiaries, and assets amounting to over BGN 2 billion.

From the beginning of 2018 until 2019 he worked at a bankruptcy administration office, where he worked on some of the biggest bankruptcy cases, including the country’s biggest bankruptcy of a business entity to date – that of KBM BULGARIA EAD /in bankruptcy/ – the former Carefour supermarket chain. He participated in the legal management of Piraeus Bank Bulgaria AD in relation to non-performing loans and debt collection.

From 2016 to 2018 he worked at the biggest private bailiff office in the country, where he was directly responsible for over 2,200 enforcement cases.

In the period from 2012 to 2016, he was an intern at a law firm specialized in administrative and property law and construction, where he was actively involved in the defence of rights of rem over real estate and construction sites of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church – the Holy Synod, the St. Joan Rilski Sofia Clerical Seminary and the Faculty of Theology at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski.

Attorney in law Petar Topurov has accumulated rich practical experience in the field of civil and commercial law through his work at a law firm, as well as at the offices of a private bailiff and an assignee in bankruptcy. He has worked on some of the biggest bankruptcy cases over the last years and has provided legal services to one of Bulgaria’s big banks (2017-2018). He has been involved in the legal servicing of public sales valued at tens of millions of levs. He successfully passed the assistant private bailiff exam in 2017. He was registered as attorney in law in January 2018.

Attorney in law Topurov has graduated from the Faculty of Law at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, as well as from the National School for Ancient Languages and Cultures. He is currently Assistant Professor at Department of Family and Inheritance Law at the Faculty of Law, Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski and at Civil Law Science Division at the Institute for the State and the Law at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) . He has been involved in the preparation of expert opinions on interpretation cases to the Supreme Court of Cassation. In 2018 he carried out research at the faculty of Law of the University of Bologna. He won the Ivan Evstatiev Geshov prize of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in 2019 for scientific achievements in the field of law.

Kristina Todorova is President of the Bulgarian national group of European Law Students’ Association“ for the period 2022/2023. In 2022 she held the position of Head of the Organizing Committee of the first edition of international Summer ELSA Law School Sofia on Corporate Law. She was part of the Board of the Directors of ELSA Bulgaria in 2021/2022 and held the position of Vice-President “Seminars and Conferences”– in the same time, she participated in the international work groups for the selection of the next International Focus Progrаmme Topic. For the period 2020/2021 she held the position of Director “Seminars and Conferences” in the same department.
